My favorite is no longer made. :( It was a Nut Brown made by Mad Monk Beer Co. in Cincinatti OH. (1995-99) - Smooth, malty with a hint of caramel.

The House of Brews in the Flats (out of business) made an awesome Oyster Stout! Again I shed a tear in my empty beer glass.

I do enjoy Great Lakes Brewering Company's Christmas Ale.
A holiday ale brewed with honey and spiced with fresh ginger and cinnamon.
ABV: 7.5% ABW: 6.0% IBU: 40

My usual is Guiness.

I have really acquired a taste for IPAs. Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg PA has several good ones. Selinsgrove Brewery in Pa has good ones too.

Well, I have quite a few beers that I love, but my current favorite is one that comes from Louisiana called Turbo Dog Ale. There's a lager that is too watery and some other fruity beer that I won't even bother with. The ale is the only one I like. The brewery is Abita.

This crosses over with a hometown favorite place for BBQ called Jeff's Cuisine. His recipes are all from his great-grandma from New Orleans(or was it South Carolina somewhere?) and are amazing. He introduced us to Turbo Dogs during happy hour one night, and we haven't looked back. It's been a thursday or friday night tradition. Everytime anyone is game, they walk by and say turbodog, under their breath and so fast, you're not sure anyone even spoke. It's subliminal.

Anyway, more about Jeff's when I post about other, roadtrip-worthy food from Chef Jef!

turbodog!

Glad to know I'm not the only Shiner drinker. Although Abita is pretty good too.
