this is a brilliant topic, anyone remember the goth chick lady in Philly on Saturday nights. I can' t remember her name and I spoke with her on the phone years ago in a weird small world work scenario. We even talked about getting her on the show but i can' t remember her name.

Hey Gene,

The Philly host you're referring to is Karen Scioli. She played Stella, the Maneater from Manayunk on Saturday Night Dead. Of course, it was on after Saturday Night Live and ran from 1984 to 1990. She had several sidekicks, including Skeeves the Butler, Cousin Mel, Dr. Schuylkill , and Iggy the dungeon monster. I was thrilled to find the opening credits and a clip of the show on You Tube. What a thrill for the insomniac child that I was!

Also, a co-worker who grew up in Pittsburgh recently told me about Chilly Billy. He hosted Chiller Theater, which was actually an afternoon horror movie show. I guess Chilly Billy wasn't nearly as over the top as most of the other fright night type hosts as he wore just a suit or a turtleneck and no make-up. Chilly Billy also played himself in the original Night of the Living Dead as a reporter interviewing the Chief of Police about the zombie hunt!
