What is your favorite Hot Dog?

I've got to put my vote in for a Chicago Dog as well. Doesn't matter where I'm at in Chicago-land, if I'm going for cylindrical meat in a bun it's either going to be a Chicago Dog or a Maxwell Polish. It's all about the neon green relish, baby!

been eattin' for 30 years, since I was old enough to chew a hot dog - best hot dog you can get without driving for an hour or more.

...and Czaple, your right, it's all about the relish. It's so hard to get around here, so I enjoy it when I can.

Has anyone had the Upstate New York hot dogs? I believe they are unique to the area around Albany, and especially Troy, NY.

There is a place that makes 3-inch hot dogs around here, and there are three restaurants that serve them. They are Gus's Hot Dogs in Watervliet, Hot Dog Charlies in Cohoes and Famous Lunch in Troy. Typically, they are served with a meat and onion sauce on top. The hot dogs themselves are snappy and very garlic-y. The tiny buns get all greasy from the meat sauce. I think they're great.

Almost every hot dog vendor in Sweden sells a hot dog with mashed potatoes on it. It is usually topped with mustard and ketchup, but other things can go. I need to make one for myself about once a year, but I am yet to find a hot dog with the correct "pop" when you bit into it to match the ones one gets in Sweden.
