Frog bridge

In the town of Willimatic CT there is a bridge, on this bridge are giant thread spools and atop the spools are giant frogs.
The reason for this is that Willimantic was the thread capital of the us at one point, that explains the giant spools.
Now for the giant frogs atop the spools. One night a horiffic noise rose up from what seemed like every direction, the towns people were spooked. A few brave men ventured out in the direction the noise seemed loudest, what the men found shocked them enough for it to have a perminent spot in town history. What they found was this in a watering hole that had shrunk
from the heat of summer was completely hopping with possibly millions of frogs...the sounds that had frieghtened the towns people were the frogs fighting to survive in this last wet spot in town.
Creepy huh?
So that is why the frog bridge in Willimantic has the mighty behemoths set astride the giant spools.

Ha, that's pretty fantastic. And kudos to the town officials for working such a strange event into the actual landscape of the town. If every town did that this place might be a little more interesting to wander around at night. Yeah, there's a Mothman statue in Point Pleasant, but I wanna see a Jersey Devil statue near the Pine Barrens, or Chupacabra statues, or Skinwalkers and such. I wonder if there's a local legend made up by the high school kids about the frogs.
