The zombies( or whatever they are) from I AM Legend are creepy as hell.

I have always like the monsters from "Clive Barker's Nightbreed". They had powers, couldn't go out in the sun and, if needed, would take a big old bite out of your neck.

Make sure you take Midian off your vacation destination list.
Who would win in a fight between "Alien vs. Predator vs. The Water Horse?"

Attempting to be serious: I'd recommend "The Host" to all.
Here's a novel idea - the monster isn't so much hell bent on distruction as it is confused, scared, awkward and hungry. It's believable. Kinda.

I liked the Host. Definitely a different point of view. Also, it was pretty different as most of it took place in bright daylight.
Has anybody seen the Legend of Boggy Creek? That scared me to death when I was a kid. Now, it's a bit laughable, but still the best bigfoot movie out there.
