Attempting to be serious: I'd recommend "The Host" to all.
Here's a novel idea - the monster isn't so much hell bent on distruction as it is confused, scared, awkward and hungry. It's believable. Kinda.
I liked the Host. Definitely a different point of view. Also, it was pretty different as most of it took place in bright daylight.
Has anybody seen the Legend of Boggy Creek? That scared me to death when I was a kid. Now, it's a bit laughable, but still the best bigfoot movie out there.
I also saw Boggy Creek as a kid, and it scared the living hell out of me. Probably because the style of the film is a mockumentary (only i think they are semi serious) and as a small kid i just didn't get that.
For a long time after that I was convinced that bigfoot was going to come in through my window in suburbia and try to kill me. bigfoot remains my favorite monster ever.
there is a MST3K version of boggy creek 2 that is sufficiently terrible to be enjoyed.
Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that bigfoot/something was going to come in through my window.
